i very loosely follow this recipe now. i've taken out the pepperoni and added ground almonds :) and when i made them last (5.13.14), they smelled just like pizza before baking. and, i've learned to bake them in a 9x13 for 40 minutes.
first made for turkey dinner 12.28.13. used a bag of wegmans stuffing (over 7 cups); substituted 4 tsp ground sage for fresh; 1 pink lady, 1 granny; a bit more olive oil; mild gianelli sausage; no pepper.
first made: 12/24/13. we omitted the potatoes and substituted pink beans for kidney beans, apple cider vinegar for red wine vinegar, minced garlic for the cloves. and i forgot to salt it... but it was pretty good :)
